Coastal German Shepherd Rescue

Hercules is available ( Updated 09-26-2020 )

Male German Shepherd Dog about 3-5 years old. Not cat friendly.

Hercules is a gorgeous and well bred boy, approximately 5 years old, who grew up on a huge property as primarily an outside dog. He was occasionally allowed inside, was crate trained, house broken, but his main task was protection of the property. When his family downsized homes and wanted Hercules to city dog, they did a board and train at the same training facility we use and highly recommend. Being a smart GSD with lots of drive, he picked up everything quickly and showed his potential. No longer at the large property and now in a small beach side residence (in a heavily populated area), being an outside dog didn't work for their new neighbors and Hercules was taken back to boarding. He lived there for months until we were asked if we'd consider finding him a GSD savvy family who could give him the type of home he needs to thrive. The owners wanted what was best for Hercules, so they relinquished him and we promised to find his happily ever after.

Hercules has a big ball drive, is easy on a leash, and really wants to please his owner, but will take over if allowed. He is looking for a GSD savvy home who can give him lots of structure, boundaries, and exercise. In return, he will make you wish you had found him sooner!

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
