Coastal German Shepherd Rescue

Jett has been adopted! 03-29-2014

Male German Shepherd Dog about 6-9 years old. Good with kids. OK with cats. Gets along with other dogs.

Jett joined the Coastal GSR pack when his family fell on hard times and couldn't take him with them to their new house. At 7 years old, Jett had been with the same family his whole life but has adjusted quite well to his foster home. Jett's a very well-mannered boy; he will happily sleep a dog bed and has not tried to get on the couch (his family allowed him on the couch and slept in bed with them, but he's minding his foster mom's rules perfectly).

His favorite thing is going for a walk: he walks perfectly, does not pull or stop to sniff ... he just likes to walk. Jett enjoys playing with toys and gives it up easily for you to throw. He is shy around new people, but once he gets to know you, he's at ease and very friendly.

Though he currently isn't living with other dogs, his foster reports he isn't bothered by them at all on walks... big, small, it doesn't matter. Jett also lived with kids in his prior home.

Jett has a great smile and loves to be brushed, groomed and petted. He's a happy boy who loves attention, but is fine if you leave him alone in the house. He's 100% house-trained; no accidents at all, does not chew on anything, does not mark. He's a little nervous about car rides (he shakes) and is initially shy of new people and situations but warms up quickly. If you're looking for a 'turnkey' dog who can fit right into your family, Jett may be your guy!

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
