Hogan has been adopted! 03-29-2013

Male German Shepherd Dog /Collie mix about 7-9 months old. Good with kids. OK with cats. Gets along with other dogs.

Hogan was delivered to us on a rabies pole. He was terrified, in horrific pain due to severe skin infections and frozen in place. The first two days in our care, he had to be carried everywhere. It didn't take long for him to come around. And he has healed quickly, more so than usual with dogs with demodex mange.

Hogan still carries trauma of being dragged on a rabies pole and hasn't quite mastered walking on a leash. We have decided to try a harness for him - he's been wearing a coat since he has had so little hair on his back in the cold California winter! Hogan is housebroken, very affectionate and loves to rough house it with the big boys. We suspect he may have some collie in him - once his big coat fills in, we think he will be quite gorgeous with his white and tan spots.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
