Mister has been adopted! 03-30-2013
Mister is a blue shepherd with hazel eyes. He is stunning in person. Mister has probably always been an outdoor dog and is most comfortable outside - we rarely have dogs who make the choice to be outside if they can be indoors but Mister is one of those dogs. He loves to chase insects, wade in the shallow end of the pool and just hang out quietly. We don't know what happened to him previously. We do know that he has come out of his shell slowly and there is a special person out there for him. Mister would be best for someone who has a quiet lifestyle and not many visitors. We do know that once Mister gets to know you, you are his buddy for life! We know he would be fine with other dogs as he lives with many dogs right now. He is not an alpha and follows the lead of the others in his pack. Mister is highly treat motivated and we have made much progress with him using treats as a reward. This beautiful boy is not for everyone but there HAS to be that special someone who will be touched by the soul of this dog who must have been so neglected and mistreated in his previous life. Mister has officially decided that being an indoor dog is a good choice! He was recently "busted" stretched stem to stern on a down couch and now nearly always prefers a big dog bed to laying on concrete. It took months to get Mister to grasp that concept but he has now embraced it with enthusiasm. While he is still a quirky boy (we almost think he has PTSD), he is in love with his foster mom, he is housebroken, he is a true gentleman at events and completely big, small dog friendly. He'd be such an awesome companion for someone!
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
