Coastal German Shepherd Rescue

Dieter has been adopted! 11-11-2009

Female about 0 old.

Hi, my name is Dieter but my original rescuer named me King Kong! Its because I am a giant boy with a fluffy coat. If you feel through my coat though, you can feel each of my ribs so I am a little on the thin side. The kind lady who found me saw me laying on the side of the road and thought I had been hit by a car. But the truth was, I was just so exhausted that I couldn't move any more. She told me that because she lives in a rural area, she finds dogs like me all the time. She and her son took care of me until Coastal could take me in and got me some needed vet care.

I can't really tell anyone what has happened to me in my life but now that I have had a bath and am getting treated for ear infections (ouch, those hurt), I plan to be on my best behavior to find my forever home. I like other dogs and I REALLY like people - in fact, I prefer to be wherever the humans are. When I went to my new foster home, I slept next to the human bed all night long and never made a peep. I'll sleep in a crate too if you want me to.

I get along with other dogs but I would prefer cats....for a meal. So no kitties in Dieter's forever home!

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
