Elsbeth has been adopted! 02-01-2025
Little Elsbeth - aka El - came to the Coastal GSR family when she was 6 weeks old. She had been separated from her mother and siblings at a young age. Her backstory was sketchy: the people who had her had several versions of how she came to them. They decided that they didn't want her and were going to take her to a shelter. Fortunately, a rescuer that Coastal has worked with before heard about this pup and asked Coastal GSR to help her. We couldn't say no to this sweetie.
DNA test results show that Elsbeth is approximately half GSD and half St. Bernard. What a combo!!! She will be a big girl. She is sweet, cute, and very personable and we are happy to find her a home.
Elsbeth is now 2 months old and weighs 10 pounds. She is in a foster home with three adult dogs and she wants all of them to play with her.She will even chase after the balls that are thrown for the other dogs but her absolute favorite thing is her yellow duck and pink dinosaur. Both make wonderful noises that she loves. Her foster mom is working on crate training and housebreaking her. Elsbeth is doing extremely well for her age.
One thing for certain is that Elsbeth loves people - she is very people oriented and wants to be held and just be around her foster mom and her friends.
Elsbeth would be good as an only dog if people are around or would be fine with other dogs. Having people around most of the time would make Elsbeth very happy.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
