Coastal German Shepherd Rescue

Axel is available ( Updated 10-04-2024 )

Male German Shepherd Dog about 1-2 years old. Good with kids. Gets along with other dogs. Not cat friendly.

When you think of a happy dog, you think of Axel! He wags with his entire body. He greets everyone with a huge grin and just loves being in your presence.
Axel has not always had a happy life though. He lived as a stray in the high desert for quite a long time before a kind woman started feeding him. He soon brought along a female stray dog and they soon had a family of five living in the fields of the high desert and being fed by a kind hearted woman who couldn’t watch them starve. Thankfully, she eventually called Coastal and we were able to save the entire group.
You would not know any of this by meeting Axel- except for maybe a faint scar on the bridge of his nose. He has settled into the comforts of life and is truly grateful.
Axel would be great as a buddy dog or even as an only dog. He finds so much joy in being with people. He is housebroken and likes his space to be clean.
He will make someone very happy to share life with him- he is that cool of a dog!

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
