Reuben has been adopted! 01-28-2023
When this gentle giant (weighing in just over 90 pounds) landed at the shelter, there was no info left with him, he wasn’t chipped, had no collar, and so he spent his mandatory hold time waiting for an owner who never came. 😢
The shelter reached out to us about Reuben, as he had hair loss on his muzzle and body and needed a rescue to give him a second chance. Thanks to a loving family opening up their home to him so he could get vetted and then find his forever family, we were able to save him!
It’s clear that Reuben didn’t lead the best life prior to landing at the shelter. He was scared to come inside of his foster home, but had learned that those comfy beds are for him. After a vet visit and some medicated baths, this handsome big boy's skin is good as new! He's doing great with his foster family and has a couple of canine besties. Reuben can be shy in new situations and with new people, but thrives with structure, which makes him more confident.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
