Coastal German Shepherd Rescue

Tasha has been adopted! 11-05-2022

Female Belgian Shepherd Malinois about 1-2 years old. Gets along with other dogs.

Tasha is approximately a year old and already had a litter of puppies. Three of her puppies survived and two are on the Coastal GSR website (Mikey and Milton). It is a wonder that those pups and Tasha even made it this far! They were rescued from a field in Bakersfield where dogs are dumped and discarded. Tasha was skin and bones from feeding her puppies and was close to starving! Some kind-hearted volunteers who live near the field feed the dogs and rescue them when they are able to get close to them. Tasha and her pups were rescued, checked by a vet and sent to a temporary foster. When Coastal was asked to take them, there was no way we could say no.

Tasha is a good mom to her puppies. The puppies are weaned and now it is Tasha's turn to put on weight, kick back, and start living a good life. Tasha is gorgeous with beautiful coloring! She is in a foster home with multiple dogs and loves all of the dogs and is very comfortable with them. She has started to trust and get used to people and she is doing better every day. Her foster family is taking her out to stores and on pack walks to get her used to being in public.

The perfect adopter for Tasha has some experience with shy dogs and the patience to let her do things at her own pace. Another dog or two in the home would not be a bad thing. Young children may be a lot for her to deal with now but older children would be fine (< 5-6 yoa).

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
