Aspen has been adopted! 02-20-2022
Aspen is one of nine puppies born to a Belgian Malinois mother and a German Shepherd mix father. The mother gave birth to her puppies under an old RV right before a snow storm. A good hearted Samaritan rescued mom and pups and took them home. The puppies' mom is still in Anza with her rescuer. The rescuer asked Coastal German Shepherd to help place the puppies and find them good homes. We were happy to help.
Most of the puppies, including Aspen, look like dark colored Malinois like their mom. Aspen is an adorable little puppy. She likes to hang out in the kitchen along with her two foster big brothers (German Shepherds) while her foster mom works from home. She can play rough with the boys but if she is knocked down too much, she will go crying to her foster mom. She likes being held and comforted but she will let you know when she has had enough of that and is ready to go back to roughhousing.
Aspen is adorable and sweet but she is a Malinois mix. She will require socialization with people and dogs as she grows up and lots of training. Please learn about Malinois and GSD before applying for Aspen.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
