Bowie has been adopted! 10-17-2021
Bowie is a member of the "B puppy litter". The B litter has five siblings - two female and three male. They were born in the high desert and relinquished to Coastal when they were 6 weeks old.
The mom is a Husky and German Shepherd mix. We are pretty sure that there were two dads because two of the puppies look like German Shepherd puppies and are twice the size and weight of the other three. The other three puppies look more like Huskies and are half the size of Bowie and his sister Bugsy.
Bowie has German Shepherd coloring and very few Husky features. He weighs 10 pounds and is 8 weeks old. Bowie is confident and content and loves to explore the yard. Bowie is already learning how to fetch. He would do well around larger dogs and he will be able to keep up with them. He is a fearless but friendly little boy.
The home that adopts Bowie should have some knowledge of German Shepherds and/or Huskies. He is a lover and all about praise and pets but could have a bit of stubbornness in him as he grows older.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
