Coastal German Shepherd Rescue

Kalli is available ( Updated 03-28-2024 )

Female German Shepherd Dog about 3-5 years old. Gets along with other dogs. Not for homes with kids.

Kalli was purchased as a puppy during the pandemic. She didn't seem to have been socialized at all, living most of her life in a crate, and when her owners decided to take her to the shelter a year later, she wasn't a good candidate for public adoption. Kalli was petrified of everyone and everything and needed a rescue to help her if she was going to make it out alive.

We rescued this 46 pound floofy beauty and started working on getting her used to the world around her. She started to open up and trust and can now mingle with people without shaking in fear, but rather asking for affection. Around 3 years old, she is crate trained, good in the car, loves her walks, but can be scared of traffic and loud noises when on walks. Once we're off the main street, she does great, but loud trucks can still spook her and she'll need an adopter to continue working with her so she can blossom even more. She's such a sweetheart, you'll wonder why you waited so long to make her part of your family!

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
