Coastal German Shepherd Rescue

Louie has been adopted! 03-03-2022

Male German Shepherd Dog about 3-5 years old. Gets along with other dogs.

Louie is a kind and soft soul. He’s not sure why he lost his homes or what’s happening now, but he’s loving and sweet and looking for someone to give him a chance at his happily ever after.

This handsome boy was originally picked up as a stray and adopted through the shelter, but, two years later, his adopter was moving and didn’t consider him in his plans, returning him to the same shelter from which he was adopted. When his time there ran short, we offered him a life vest and welcomed him into the Coastal family.

This gorgeous boy didn’t appear to have been socialized much with people, had horrible fly strikes on his ears, and was timid about life, in general, leading us to believe that he lived those two years in a yard (with other dogs) and saw nothing else. Well, his life is changing now! He’s walking with volunteers and has shown that he’s a big teddy bear with the people he knows. He’s going to need structure in his new home- to know you’re the leader and that he can relax and follow you, otherwise he’s too protective of the home and his people. Around 4-5 years old, he will make some lucky family very, very happy! 💙

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
