Ruger is available ( Updated 10-17-2021 )
As a puppy, Ruger turned up at the shelter after seemingly having been hit by a car. We rescued him and immediately sent him to our vet, where we discovered that he'd sustained four fractures, including one to his pelvis. He had multiple surgeries and then left the hospital to recover in a foster home.
Since his rescue, he's more than doubled in size! Just over a year old, he now enjoys running and playing with his foster siblings and having a grand old time, even though he still has a little "kink" in one back leg. Ruger is crate trained, potty trained, and good with other dogs, but he can be overly rambunctious for little dogs. We are unsure of Ruger's mix... maybe GSD and Basenji? Whatever it is, he's a medium sized boy who is very sweet, has tons of puppy energy, and likes to have a toy in his mouth at all times. If you're looking for an active boy who walks a little funny, but isn't in any pain and is looking for a fun household to call his own, this curly tailed boy is your dream come true!
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
