Gonzo has been adopted! 11-09-2018
Gonzo was purchased from a breeder at six months of age and has been with one family for 3 years, but now he needs a new home (his DOB is 5/9/15). This handsome boy grew up with a small dog and children and has been a regular at doggy daycare, where he socialized with other large dogs.
He's very well trained in heeling, down stays, wait, eye checking, shake, high 5, say hi, etc. Gonzo does not jump on furniture nor beds, is good in the house, potty trained, is not food aggressive, and is an indoor dog who loves to play with his toys, go on walks, and run along a bike for exercise. He likes to give kisses, run between your legs, and he is a hugger. Gonzo can be protective of his home, so he will need a family with GSD experience.
Although he has no issues now, a couple of years ago Gonzo was seen by the vet, had a urinalysis, and was put on prescription food. He hasn't had any issues since and his vet isn't sure that he'll need to be on this food for life, but his current family has kept him on it (because he likes it!).
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
