Marley has been adopted! 08-24-2018
We received a call about a young GSD who was picked up as stray after being hit by a car. She was wearing a chain & padlock around her neck and had a fractured leg as well as abdominal swelling. She was very sweet and required immediate medical treatment so she needed a rescue commitment right then and there.
Only around 1-2 years old, she had her whole life ahead of her and being hit by a car shouldn't be a death sentence. We couldn't say no, so she was taken to our vet and has now recovered in a foster home, displaying what an absolute sweetheart of a GSD she is even with all that's happened to her. A new name for a new life: she's now known as Marley.
This beauty is great with people, older kids, loves her toys, and is food motivated. The splint on her front leg has been removed and she is getting used to walking around on it which should take her no time at all. Marley will be an active girl now that she is fully mended. We recommend a tall fence and gates for this girl because once she gets going, she may not stop.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
