Ella has been adopted! 01-01-2018

Female German Shepherd Dog about 1-2 years old. Gets along with other dogs. Not for homes with kids.

Ella was abandoned in a canyon and, thankfully, our friends at Hope for Paws were able to capture her. She's a total sweetheart, shy and not exactly sure who to trust just yet, but she is coming around quickly in her foster home. She's an absolutely stunningly beautiful girl, on the smaller side, but skinny from her adventures and could easily add ten pounds.

She has not been tested with cats, but she has no reaction whatsoever to a 10-lb Chihuahua, so she might be ok with cats. She had some scabbing on her hocks, most likely due to an attack by other animals, but surprisingly isn't defensive or aggressive around the other dogs in her foster home. She is slowly warming up to them, but was initially a little overwhelmed, which makes sense after her history. Ella likes going to her crate as a safe space, which is also quite common for a dog with her past.

She's a very sweet girl and is going to be a great dog for some lucky family!

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
