Dylan has been adopted! 02-25-2018

Male German Shepherd Dog about 7-9 months old. Gets along with other dogs.

Dylan is a typical 9-month-old puppy. He is a big boy whose DNA test indicated that he is primarily German Shepherd with some Border Collie and possibly a bit of Greyhound and Boxer. Dylan loves to get out and go for walks. He can be a bit fearful of new things but just needs to be introduced to unfamiliar people and things slowly. Once he knows you, he will bond to you for life. He did very well in his training class. Dylan is very treat motivated. He is housebroken and crate trained. Dylan loves direction!

Dylan thinks he is an alpha dog at 9 months old. He is in a home with another dog who is an alpha dog and she has put Dylan in his place and he has accepted it. We recommend that Dylan go to a home where he is an only dog or to a home that has another dog - and one that is alpha - or else he may decide to assert himself and be more difficult to continue training. He is very secure of his abilities. Dylan is in a home with cats and gets along with some of them. The other cats just stay away from him and he is fine with that. Dylan would prefer a home without children.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
