Storm has been adopted! 04-25-2020

Male German Shepherd Dog about 3-5 years old. Gets along with other dogs. Not for homes with kids.

His name is Storm, but he has the sunniest and sweetest disposition, especially for a dog that was neglected and kept caged in the backyard 90% of the time. While in the cage, he did not have a blanket, bed, food or water, and was hit and mistreated by the male in the house. When neighbors rescued him, he was covered with fleas and had matted hair. The groomer had to wash and comb him out four times to get all of the fleas! Since he was only allowed outside, Storm wasn't housebroken, but he is super sharp and it didn't take long for him to catch on- he's now potty trained and great in the house. Like all German Shepherd Dogs, Storm catches on quickly with a regular routine.

Storm just turned 4 years old and, since his rescue, he has opened up to the volunteers he knows. He is happiest when he's with other dogs, is playful, and just so grateful to be out and running around. He loves the "ladies" and enjoys having a dog or twenty with whom to play. While Storm hasn't shown any aggressive behavior towards people, we believe he would do best in a home with no children as he is slow to trust people and is scared of fast movement. We do believe Storm will open up having 1 or 2 other playful big dogs around who can help show him the ropes and that not all humans are bad.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
