Coastal German Shepherd Rescue

Remembering Lucy 2
Rest in Peace

Female German Shepherd Dog /Australian Kelpie mix about 10-12 months old. Good with kids. Gets along with other dogs.

Lucy didn't have the best start, but she sure has bounced back! Lucy and her brother, Patrick, were neglected, abandoned and both survived Parvo. A nice family took them in to foster from another rescue, who is no longer responding to them. We've tried as well and, after repeated attempts, have decided to help find these adorable pups their forever homes.

Both are friendly with other animals, but need some leash manners. They get along with everyone, including a Sulcata Tortoise, and would be fine with other dogs if properly introduced. Patrick acts as his sister's protector and Lucy is more submissive, loving to play with everyone.

Patrick loves to play fetch with a squeaky ball and Lucy likes to antagonize him and try to get it first. She will drop it and walk away if he doesn't give her attention. She also likes to play tug of war with a rope and plays hide and seek with him in a trash can. They are house broken, but still teething (even though their destruction has been minimal). These young cuties are ready for an active family that will continue with further training to perfect her skills.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
