Remembering Winston
Rest in Peace
Winston didn't imagine spending his retirement at the OC Shelter, but found himself there with no idea how he was going to get out. We threw him a lifeline and he's been in a foster home ever since! This sweet boy loves people and gets along with other dogs, even the small ones.
He warms up quickly to people, yet, sort of prefers to do his own thing. Winston reacts to other dogs he sees while on his leash but it is more out of excitement than aggression. He has a torn acl and we have him on Rimadyl to keep him comfortable.
Winston would much prefer a home with older kids or adults only as he enjoys a calm lifestyle. While Winston is good with small dogs, we are unsure of cats, especially because one of his favorite pastimes is to chase squirrels!
If you're looking for a loyal companion who has lots of life left and even more love to give, Winston is the boy for you. ❤️
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
