Archer has been adopted! 09-26-2015

Male German Shepherd Dog about 6-9 years old. Good with kids. OK with cats. Gets along with other dogs.

Looking for that perfect companion? Archer is a huge lovebug with great, balanced energy. He loves to take walks but, other than that, he just enjoys being with his foster family and he doesn't require too much exercise. This cuddle bug is very submissive to humans but will bark if someone comes to the door- he's protective, but can tell the difference between friend and foe. He also knows basic commands. Although dog friendly, he does not like if other dogs are rowdy and in his face, mostly because his nose is sensitive. He would love to find a home with a cushy dog bed, because it's his favorite place to lay down.

Archer is a perfect dog for someone looking for an active, yet mellow companion. His foster family has done an outstanding job getting Archer down to a healthy weight; he's lost 30 pounds and is a completely new dog! He has more energy than his old couch potato self, but is still mellow and a great companion for someone who can't excercise a dog with puppy energy.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
