Kat has been adopted! 10-20-2015
Kat is a sweet girl, around 6 or 7 years old, who is meant to be the only queen of her castle. While Kat is wonderful with people, she isn't as fond of her k9 cohorts (based on fear and never being properly socialized before her rescue). Her teeth are prestine and hint that she might be younger than people think, her face and ears just showing signs of the rough life she had before her rescue.
Kat walks well on a leash, is VERY people oriented and shows that she has had some training in her past. She is quick to give you her paw and happiest when she can cuddle up against you, lightly kissing your hand and crossing her paws. She would be a perfect companion for an older person who likes to have company around the house. Some shepherd experience is ideal for Kat.
One of Kat's mammary glands was removed and tested for cancer. It was malignant, however, they got all the margins and this typical type of breast cancer is slow growing, IF it came back. We have placed many dogs with this condition and old age, not breast cancer, is what has them cross the rainbow bridge.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
