Jaeger has been adopted! 01-30-2015
Who's the perfect dog? Jaeger! Not only is he great with people, but he likes other dogs and does well with kitties.
Now Jaeger may not be the right dog for everyone and would greatly benefit from an experienced shepherd home that has dealt with "back talk" that a shepherd can be prone to do. Jaeger's one "fault" (if you can call it that - it tends to be a breed trait) is that he will grumble & moan if he doesn't want to do what you just asked him to do. To an inexperienced adopter, that can be a bit off-putting. But to those of us who have had shepherds, we also know that not backing down as the leader of the pack means that the dog will almost always do what you want, although he may complain mightily.
Jaeger is a big stout fellow, housebroken and just a good all around boy. He's dog friendly, but prefers to only live with female canine companions and older children.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $300 and the adoption donation for puppies is $400 - $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
