Derby has been adopted! 06-06-2014
If you're lucky enough to meet Derby, watch out ... he might just lick you to death! Lover of giving kisses, Derby is a hearty, medium-size Shepherd who absolutely adores kids (he can get a little exuberant with his affection though so grade-school children or older would probably be best). Though Derby hasn't been introduced to small animals, he's been non-reactive around them at adoption events so it's entirely possible. We know he's great with other large dogs as he lives with a large pack in his foster home. No longer an adolescent but far from old boy status, Derby has plenty of good years ahead of him to spend with a deserving family.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
