Coastal German Shepherd Rescue

Twyla has been adopted! 04-03-2014

Female German Shepherd Dog about 6-9 years old. Good with kids. OK with cats. Gets along with other dogs.

Twyla was rescued from a homeless man who saved her from two other homeless men who were beating her with a stick. Now safe and sound, Twyla is a dream on leash and walks right by your side. She’s housebroken & crate trained, loves her daily walk at the park and loves people of all ages, especially children. She must have lived with a family in the past. She’s non reactive to other dogs, as well as cats, but does best in a home with male dogs; she enjoys playing and wrestling with her GSD foster brother. Twyla knows her basic commands and is learning to play fetch; she loves to carry her squeaky tennis ball around the house.

It’s amazing to see Twyla’s transformation from a hand-shy & leash shy girl to a more confident dog within just a couple of weeks in her foster home. She needs an adopter who understands her abused past and is willing to give her time to adjust to a new routine. All she craves is love and affection, a soft bed and a place where she feels safe. Twyla is perfect for a family who is looking for an easy going German Shepherd.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
