Whisper has been adopted! 10-28-2013
Whisper is a small senior shepherd. She is so quiet you will hardly know that she is there until she comes up along side you and nuzzles your hand. Whisper is shy and takes a little while to get to know you but once she does, she will give you a little wag of her tail when she sees you and will follow you around! Whisper walks a bit stiffly but when she sees her leash and collar, she is ready to go for a walk, just not a long one! Whisper gets along very well with other dogs - actually she will ignore them - and just does her own thing. She is housebroken and sleeps soundly on her bed.
Recently diagnosed with Cushing's Disease, Whisper may not have many years ahead of her but her condition is easily managed with medication. This is a lovely lady and we pray that someone is out there who wants to give her everything in the time she has left.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
