Ty has been adopted! 10-25-2012

Male about old.

We rescued Ty from the West LA Shelter after he had waited MONTHS to be adopted. The staff had fallen in love with him and were so worried that we wouldn't be rescued. Volunteers from the shelter pleaded with us to rescue Ty and once we met him we were sold! Thankfully Ty is in a foster home so we know lots and lots about him!

Here is what his foster mom has reported:

Ty is a GREAT dog! He is super mellow but still has spunk in him! He hasn't shown any interest in balls or ropes but he LOVES dog beds. He just rotates through all of the dogs beds all day long. He knows all of his basic commands. He gets along great with my 4 dogs ranging in size from 25lbs to 80lbs (1 is deaf, 1 is blind, and 1 is partially paralyzed). He is super great with children. He has been around kids as young as 2 years old and had no issues at all. He has only barked once and it was at 3 am when some guy was standing in my front yard talking on his cell phone! He doesn't bark at the mail man or at cars driving by and he doesn't bark at the dog next door that barks all day long. He doesn't require a lot of attention but he gets sooooo excited when I come home after being gone for a few hours. He is not destructive when left alone and he is 100% potty trained. He would really love some people food but he hasn't stole food from anyone (not even the kids), he just sits and stares at you in hopes that you give him a little something. He has no food aggression. Oh, and he taught himself how to use the doggie door! He really is the perfect dog!

How great does he sound! If you are looking for middle aged, well behaved dog, please consider Ty!

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
