Gus has been adopted! 11-19-2015
Meet Gus! This happy go lucky boy has a zest for life. He does well with other dogs -- big or small (not cat-tested) and absolutely loves his toys. He can catch just about anything, loves playing ball and really, really loves chasing the sprinklers. Gus is definitely a water dog! He walks nicely on a leash and loves to go for walks. Gus is also perfectly content to lay at your feet and watch TV. He's not high energy; he just knows how to have a good time when the time is right.
His foster mom reports that "Gus is always super happy to see me when I get home, waiting for me with his waggy 'helicopter tail' ... he loves to come up to my side and wait for head scratches. He's a cute boy."
Gus is about 6-7 yrs old and would make a great companion dog! His ideal family would be one with older kids or adults only. Though he's a happy boy, he does like his personal space and can be 'grumpy' if he's bothered when resting or sleeping. Young children may not be able to respect that.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
