Dalena has been adopted! 10-01-2013
This beauty is a playful, hearty gal! After spending quite a long time in boarding care, this sweetheart is finally in a foster home and thriving. Her foster mom reports she has only heard her bark once. So, if you're looking for an easy, quiet girl, Dalena's a good choice! A medium-sized Shepherd mix, she looks bigger in pictures than she actually is -- though she is quiet sturdy. She's very gentle though and would do just fine with kids. In fact, she enjoys meeting children in the park and typically hands out kisses if given the opportunity. Dalena is friendly with dogs of all sizes -- and though she hasn't been cat-tested, we think she'd pass that test, too. In her foster home, Dalena is getting used to all sorts of new adventures -- including pack walks, hikes and trips to the pet store (her leash skills are very good). Dalena is a bit shy when meeting new people and isn't used to lots of positive attention so its really pretty wonderful to watch her process the information that "they like me, they really like me!!!!" Once she knows you, you'll quickly be her best friend.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
