Woody has been adopted! 06-26-2005

Female about 0 old.

This big bubba tips the scales at nearly 125 lbs! For his size, he is a pretty agile fellow – one whistle and he’ll come galloping (literally) across the yard! We think Woody is mixed with either St Bernard or Mastiff – not sure which! He is a beautiful boy, probably 3-4 years old.

Woody was found by a family that had watched him wander in a vacant field for several days, then found a napping spot in their open garage. They posted signs and flyers and no one contacted them. Turning to us, we couldn’t turn our backs on this imposing fellow.

Woody is in a foster home, where he enjoys napping on the tile floors and enjoying a cool breeze under the trees. He is housebroken, appears to get along with any size of dog (he wanted to meet and greet every dog visiting the vet’s office) and we suspect he won’t have much of a reaction to kitties.

Update from Woody's Foster Mom 6/21/05

What a wonderful boy he is! He's so sweet and gentle, and surprisingly
quiet for his size. He's very sensitive and he lets me walk through doorways first (like a real gentleman - rare these days!). This dog
is an angel!

Woody wasn't really thrilled posing for pictures, and kept
trying to sneak back into the house to get back to his nap, but he's got a great smile and personality.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
