Jada has been adopted! 03-10-2012
Jada, currently weighing 82 lbs, is very large for a female shepherd. And believe it or not, she is probably 5 - 10 pounds underweight. She is a quiet, understated beauty that wants no trouble from anyone. She has a strong personality, no doubt about that but tolerates a whole lot of attitude from the many foster dogs in her home. Its been amazing to watch her start to play tug of war with some of the other dogs and discover the joy of having fun! She also made a tentative move to one of the couches and when no one stopped her, she found a a way to snuggle in and stretch out and make that couch her own. Jada would be great with a friendly male dog (size probably doesn't matter) and she could use an obedience class as we have discovered that she doesn't know 'sit' but this will be worked on in her foster home. She's on her way to being housebroken but also is very comfortable in a crate. She's an all around great gal!
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
