Mara has been adopted! 04-27-2012

Female about 0 old.

We've had Mara for quite awhile - she is a great gal who really loves her canine friends. She does great in off leash situations so would be a great dog park buddy. Mara is probably a great fit for a family with shepherd experience - she's tough, she's smart and she'll excel in situations where she gets to work her mind every day.

Update 11/08/11 from Mara's foster family:

Mara's temporary family can verify that this is one loving and playful young lady. She gets along great with people and dogs her own size or larger and enjoys playing with the other dogs in the yard and does not tire of them chasing her or her chasing them. Mara can use a dog door and loves to be outside. At night, just give her a bed to lie on in any room of the house and she will be happy.

Mara wouldn't be a good match for a family with cats or small dogs, she's more comfortable with beings her own size. She would be wonderful with kids and a great addition to many family situations.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
