Genevieve has been adopted! 04-15-2012
Genevieve is a gorgeous and loving pure bred 3 year old 65 pound Sable German Shepherd. She is the perfect dog for someone with GSD experience and looking to have just one dog in their household. She has been professionally trained by Kenyon Evers with Sit Means Sit. She knows how to walk on leash, "place," sit, down, come, and stay. She is also crate trained. She is friendly and adores people. Her needs are to have a human companion and to be a house dog. She would enjoy walks and just playing ball in the back yard with her person.
We don't know if someone failed to socialize her with other dogs or if a dog attacked her at some point which has caused her to be fear aggressive of other dogs. We can't take this out of her and she will never be a dog beach or dog park dog but she has been trained to control herself in the presence of other dogs. Taking her to places like Petsmart or where other dogs are present would be great for her because she still needs to have continuous socialization.
Her beauty, personality and loving nature will have you fall in love with her. To be sure this is the right match, we require a meet and greet with her and her trainer.
Genevieve is an awesome dog for that person or family looking to have just one dog and willing to maintain what she has learned in training.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
