Tess has been adopted! 09-14-2012

Female about old.

While getting ready for an adoption event, we received a phone call - a 7 year old dog was going to be euthanized at a veterinarian's office because the two family dogs were not getting along. The woman on the other line was frantic and passionate about this dog not deserving to die. In the haste of the moment, we committed to helping Tess--who had done nothing wrong and yet would suffer with her life.

The next day we went to meet Tess....who we had committed to save and find a home for. We found a scared and abandoned dog shaking with fear and confusion. We instantly comforted her and assured her that she was in good hands. After a good walk and some loving, we introduced her to a handsome male shepherd and they became quick friends! Tess is now rooming with Yatsu and they play together like they have known each other forever. Tess would love to get out of the boarding kennel, as it really is no place for a seven year old shepherd! Tess is petite and sweet....an easy addition.

During testing for cat safety, Tess sniffed near the volunteer cat twice, and then left the cat, preferring to run around around the yard and socialize with people. She paid no further attention to the cat, which is just what we wanted!

Tess is a great companion in the car, sitting calmly and looking out the window. She is very well-behaved and affectionate, and loves all people and dogs with whom she comes into contact. If you like puppy kisses, Tess is your girl!

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
