Hercules has been adopted! 09-01-2012

Female about 0 old.

Hercules arrived at Coastal in pretty bad shape, not only physically, but mentally. He stared vacantly and reacted violently to other dogs at first. Touching his coat, one could feel the huge scabs under his fur. His eyes were runny, he had a nasty cold and was generally depressed.

It took a few days to figure Hercules out but once we did and he realized he was safe, he calmed down, relaxed and started to slowly wag his tail. Today, Hercules lives in a multi dog foster home where he gets along with everyone - from puppies to seniors. He seems to love children as he eagerly walks up to them when he sees them. Hercules has a gentle spirit and medium energy - he is confident in himself now and is a delight to bring along while we wait for his forever home.

Hercules could probably be fine with a cat and he doesn't react to small dogs. He just has a "let's all get along" demeanor now that he has decompressed from his previous life.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
