Duke has been adopted! 07-10-2005

Female about 0 old.

Meet Duke, our resident Golden Retriever.

Duke needs our help. He is seven years old and comes from a loving
family who adopted him from the shelter at the age of two. Duke's
family is sad that they are no longer in a position to take care of him
and have asked us to find him a new home.

What can we say? Duke is a Golden Retriever all the way! He loves all
people (children and adults), loves other dogs (big and small), loves
toys, loves his cookies - you name it! He just an easy going boy and a
great addition to any family. Duke has never been exposed to cats, but
given his disposition, we expect he would give them a big, wet kiss - -
much to their dismay!

We have Duke on the South Beach diet along with a mild exercise program to slim him down - he will greatly benefit from regular exercise to get the additional weight off.

Duke has many loving years left to offer a family. We want to place
him in his new home as soon as possible. With patience and care, he
will quickly adjust to his new life. Duke just needs a new family to
shower with his special attention.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
