Kodiak has been adopted! 07-10-2005

Female about 0 old.

This dear sweet boy has a sad story to tell. We heard his plight from another breed rescuer who knew he needed help. Poor Kodiak has been bounced around several rescue organizations over the past year or so – not because of his behavior, but because he ended up with folks who didn’t have the means to get exposure for him. So he has been in several boarding situations, some kennel free, some not.

When we saw his photo, we couldn’t say no. We’ve had him for a bit and, after a good sudsing, his coat feels like downy fluff. We can tell that he feels better already with all of his winter coat scrubbed out!

Kodiak starts out shy, but after a few minutes, he will warm up – he has shown us that he really wants to interact and play with other dogs. At every adoption event, he is always perfectly behaved. He is a bit timid around men, but one of our male volunteers spends time with him and he is less apprehensive each time.

We would love to find a foster home for him while we help Kodiak find his forever home.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
