Riley has been adopted! 09-17-2005

Female about 0 old.

Riley is yet another gorgeous female found in danger at a high kill
shelter. She was brought in to the rescue with another young male, Beau.
(We suspect that Riley is Beau's mom) They had been found wandering
without tags or other ID over the 4th of July - the shelter held them for
two weeks while they waited for their family to come and find them.
Sadly, no one came.

Riley is in a foster home with several other dogs - she is recuperating
from a nasty cold and has a toe nail bed infection that will require
that all her nails be removed and her feet bandaged for a week or so -
she'll be on antiobiotics for two months but once the treatment is
completed, her doctor says she will be as good as new. Even feeling under
the weather, Riley is a sweet, gentle girl who really prefers the company
of humans - it isn't that she doesn't like other dogs, she just ignores
them. Riley prefers to sleep in a crate (door open, please) and is
extremely well housebroken. She loves a car ride and will jump right in
and settle down for whatever adventure awaits.

Riley is a great allaround girl - we think she is around 5 years old.
She would blend easily into any family!

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
