Coastal German Shepherd Rescue

George has been adopted! 08-24-2005

Female about 0 old.

Thanks to his wonderful foster family, we were able to save George (formerly Chico) from the shelter. George had a longer than usual stay at the shelter, he is so sweet and friendly the shelter workers couldn't bear to put him down. But soon they became aware that George was in desperate need of surgery to remove a foxtail near the base of his tail that had become infected. The shelter couldn't keep him any longer and we had a desperate rush to find a place for him.

Please be careful with foxtails and your pets, they can cause horrible pain!

We needed to have George in a home where he could recover. He's proved to be an amazingly resilient boy and feels like once he can ditch the e-collar, life will be perfect!

George is a big goof! If he had a job to do he should be a Camp Director
who specializes in game playing. He loves everyone, people and dogs
alike. One of George's mission in life (we think) is to make sure he leaves
you with a smile on your face.

Once you meet him it is very difficult not
join him in his zest for life, he is very social and quite the loving boy
that everyone dreams of having. He will make sure you have a good time with
him as well as any dog in your household. George tends to pull anyone out
of their shell . . . he will make you laugh with him or at him . . .
something this dog has perfected.

Like any dog he loves affection, although
given a choice of getting affection or giving affection George will choose
to give affection. Fully grown George will be about 110-115 pounds of pure
love. George is between 12-15 months old, he is looking for a home that has
another playful dog for him to hang out with.

George is in a foster home and is ready to meet his new family!

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
