Magic has been adopted! 01-01-2005
Happily, we were able to make the decision yesterday to bring Magic into Coastal German Shepherd Rescue. He got a visit to the nice vet, and a double cheeseburger, no pickle please! Magic is a sweet, cuddly boy who will crawl right into your lap and lean against you. He is docile and submissive to humans. Left alone his first day in his foster mom's bedroom in an x-pen, this gentle giant slept on his bed contentedly from morning until noon, and noon until 5:30 p.m. without so much as messing up his blankie. He doesn't feel the same way about being in a crate, but doesn't really seem to need a crate anyway. He hasn't made a mistake in the house and may be housebroken.
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
We have Magic in a foster home for a few days so we can get to know him. He likes nothing better than to snooze at your feet. He has very little interest in his two male roomies and grumbles a bit to keep their attentions at bay, but was enamoured with a beautiful, blond, flirty huskie who lives across the street! We think Magic might might have had a rough time. He was found wandering and was brought in by Animal Control, and his owners never came to claim him.
We never fail to wonder at who could lose such a magnificent dog and not search high and low until they find their pet, but it sadly, it happens all the time.
