Brownie has been adopted! 06-07-2006

Meet Brownie, a sweetheart of a dog that hung out near a construction company for several weeks before we heard of his plight. Nobody came looking for Brownie, despite our efforts.

Brownie is a shepherd mix, perhaps with a little golden retriever, australian shepherd and chow rolled in. His eyes are soft and welcoming, he's exceedingly easy going and happy. We had a petite 8 yr old gal walk him during our participation in San Diego's Humane Society Walk for the Animals and he was a gem. He spent the night with another dog and unfamiliar people in a motel room - he was perfectly behaved. Brownie is easy peasy and a delight to have hang with you on a daily basis!

Our guess is that Brownie is about three years old, and pining for a home of his own where he'll be safe and loved forever.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
