Carter has been adopted! 06-10-2006

Female about 0 old.

Carter is a jaw dropping gorgeous young man. When we originally rescued him, he was terrified in the shelter. Once we removed him from that overwhelming situation, he turned into a big lap dog.

Carter was initially placed in a home with horses. Unfortunately, Carter has proven to be unpredictable with them and would rather chase them than hang with them. His adopter is afraid that either he or the horses are going to get hurt and is reluctantly returning him to us.

Carter's got a dominant personality and a BIG bark. Carter corrects very easily and has already learned how to sit in a short period of time. He is easy to train and loves to sleep in the bedroom. He gets along with most dogs. He's just around a year old - still a puppy. He will greatly benefit from structure and discipline in his life - he's aching for a great exercise program that will channel his puppy energy.

Because of Carter's size and enthusiasm, we won't place him in a home with small children. Older kids are fine, but not little ones.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
