Whiskey has been adopted! 01-01-2006
Whiskey is around seven years old. She and her brother, Raider, lived with the same owner form the time they were puppies. Their owner then bought a motorhome and decided to travel, and abandoned his loyal pets at a very high kill animal shelter. Because Whiskey and Raider were turned in by their owner the shelter only had to keep them for 24 hours and we had to scramble to bring them to safety. Raider was adopted and sweet, beautiful Whiskey is still waiting for her forever home where she'll be valued and showered with love and attention. Whisky would also like a yard with nice green grass because she adores rolling around in cool grass! Whiskey is a sweet and quiet girl with the longest tail on record! She gets along fabulously with other dogs and children. She recently visited an elementary school and adored all of the attention she received. Whiskey has a touch of arthritis, but nothing that good food and glucosamine doesn't fix! All she wants is to love you and have a warm place to sleep in a serene environment. She deserves that, doesn't she?
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
Whiskey is currently in a foster home with another shepherd and a young child. She is flourishing in this environment, but would love to have a permanent family to dote on her.
