Aja has been adopted! 01-01-2006

Female about 0 old.

Meet Aja (pronounced Asia)..... Aja is a black and tan female, purebred shepherd (AKC registered) born on May 1, 2001. Aja has been with the same family her entire life, but due to unforeseen circumstances, she recently lost her home. Aja is currently in a foster home with four shepherd siblings.

Aja is a well mannered shepherd, she prefers people (great with children too) and seems to be fine with most dogs. Aja has not had a lot of exposure to other dogs - initially when she meets them she appears unfriendly. However, if challenged by another dog, Aja tends to revert to a submissive position. We feel that Aja would be fine in a home with or without a dog companion.

Aja is highly intelligent, whether she is opening doors or getting her own water from the faucet, she figures out most problems easily. Aja has a high ball drive, in particular she loves squeaky balls. She will play catch, but mostly enjoys squeezing the ball in her mouth. Most of the time she is content to just hang out in the house.

Aja has struggled with allergies most of her life. She has recently been moved to a raw diet and is responding favorably. The natural diet has appeared to work wonders. We strongly recommend Aja continue on this diet.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
