Zoe has been adopted! 12-16-2007
Zoe is content just to be with her people or to wait patiently in her crate until she goes outside to play with her foster siblings. She’s potty trained and gets along well with both male and female dogs of all sizes. She knows some obedience commands and walks nicely on a leash. Her previous owners apparently weren’t too concerned about canine nutrition, because Zoe is currently too heavy for her size. But her foster mom is using strict portion control to help her get back to her bikini weight – she’s already lost several pounds! Zoe is thrilled to have her foster family shower her with affection, which she returns more than generously, and she plays nicely with their four-year-old granddaughter. She also has perfect teeth!
The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
It’s likely that Zoe has a bit of some other breed in her gene pool to account for her rather short legs, her dense undercoat, and her blueberry tongue! Otherwise, she looks like a miniature German Shepherd. Zoe’s small size makes her the perfect “condo dog,” or she would do well in a house with a small yard. We can’t understand why anyone would have abandoned such a terrific dog!
