Coastal German Shepherd Rescue

Lassie has been adopted! 02-03-2007

Female about 0 old.

Hi my name is Lassie. I am roughly 7 years old. I was given up by my family of two. My mom was 87 and my pop was 89. Mom couldn’t take care of me any longer as mom needed to care for pop more and more everyday, leaving little time left for me. They decided that it might be in my best interest to let the nice people of Coastal German Shepherd rescue find me a new forever home.

I was devastated. I loved them sooooooooooo much. At first I was put into a boarding facility, but became extremely depressed. I wouldn’t even lift my head up to eat. Anyone who knows me knows I am never too sad to eat. I am now in a foster home with a nice lady and her 12 year old big boy shepherd. I leave him alone as he is much bigger then I am.

My foster mom calls me “squirt”. I am good with dogs my size or bigger but sometimes the little dogs make me mad. I just love senior citizens. They are my favorite people. I would do great in a quiet home without a lot of kid traffic. Kids make me a bit nervous.

I am potty trained, I am not destructive. I can be left in the yard or indoors and I won’t chew anything. I love to chase tennis balls, I love my nightly walks, but what I would love most is to find my forever home, nap quietly and dream of my treats.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
