Chandler has been adopted! 01-01-2007

Female about 0 old.

Chandler is about 12 months old. He was picked up by a stray in North County San Diego . . . when he saw Animal Control, he thought he was going to a party . . . he ran to them and was ready for his rub down which of course gave the officers a big smile. When they brought Chandler into the shelter, they noticed that the collar he wore probably since he was 4 months old, was embedded in his neck, this is one of the worse cases the shelter has seen. The collar was removed and we are certain that Chandler was thankful for that, now he is free of pain.

Chandler is the perfect dog. He loves other dogs, big or small. In his mind the world is a huge playground. He loves people, and is a bit afraid of cats. His foster Mom cat tested him and once he realized that these ďcatsĒ actually moved in their crate, he couldnít wait to get out of the cat section, slipping and sliding, running out like a bat out of a bat cave. I think he thought they might eat him.

Chandler lives with 5 other foster brothers and sisters, he gets yelled at all the time by 2 of the bossy dogs in the family. And when he does get yelled at, he moves away and hangs out by his bed. Chandler loves to play with other dogs, he loves to chase and be chased, and if you donít want to chase him he will instigate play. All he wants to do is give a ton of kisses to all the dogs he meets, of course some of them donít really like that too much.

Chandler is housebroken, well mannered, and just a sweet sweet boy. For a 12 month old, Chandler is very gentle and quite calm. He does not like to go into his pen until itís ready to go to bed at night. He has this obsession about shoes, itís probably the only toy he was given, although I must admit he is learning about toys and he loves them.

Chandler will do wonderful in a home with another playful dog, a partner in crime is what heís really looking for.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
