Oliver has been adopted! 01-01-2007

Female about 0 old.

Believe it or not, Oliver is only 11 months old and has been in shelter quarantine for SIX months! Confiscated as an animal abuse case (his owner would hang him from his choke chain in order to 'train' him), Oliver was lost in the shelter system. We were contacted to help him as he was going kennel crazy - wouldn't you if you were an adolescent locked in a cage for months on end??? He was fearful of noises (like ringing phones) but as of today, he can stand in his foster mom's bathroom helping her dry her hair. He is a very forgiving guy.

Oliver is a big goofball and thankfully, is none the worse for the wear. At just under 12 months (his birthday is March 14), he's got a bit of growing to do and as it is, he is a very large boy. He has a ton of energy, is filled with play and does wonderfully with other dogs. He is not at all an alpha and is getting bossed around by teddy bear dogs in his foster home. Oliver is extremely affectionate, a sloppy kisser and full of fun. He desperately wants to learn and fit in a human and/or dog pack. He'd be wonderful with older kids - he's loving the big ball that he found and will give chase if you're willing to throw!

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
