Joni has been adopted! 01-01-2007

Female about 0 old.

When we picked up Joni & Mitchell from the shelter, we were
heart-broken to see these lovely seniors in such sad shape. Half of their
fur was gone because of flea-bite dermatitis. They had ear infections,
brown teeth, long nails, and were so malnourished, their skin was sagging,
not unlike a Sharpei. It was not their fault. Their previous owner had
fallen on hard times, and they had been living on the streets, homeless, for
some time.

With just a few week's care, good diet, and medication, Joni and Mitchell
were on the road back to the good life. They grew back a beautiful coat,
had clean teeth and ears, and were ready to bond.

Joni will need medication every day to soothe her irritatied digestive
system (who knows what they ate when they were homeless!). She loves to chew
and chase after Kong toys and hang out at your feet.

Joni is an elegant, gracious, and calm 7 year old who gets along with
everyone; older dogs, puppies, kids, adults, she likes the company and
yet is settled enough to be left alone with Mitchell while you are at work.
She has been "grandma" to two exuberant puppies and fit right into a home
with two other adult dogs. She likes to hang out with Mitchell and loves cow
hooves and milk bones.

Both Joni and Mitchell are hoping for that special someone who sees that they are ready to be loyal best friends, and where they can stay together. Are you the wonderful
person she has been waiting for?

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
